FREEDOME MISSIONS
This part of serving the church looks to develop the youth of today to be an effective witness of Jesus Christ in every aspect of life. It is easy in today's "segmented society" to fall into the temptation to believe that in order to become an "effective missionary", one can not work a full time job or engage in the daily routines of living as it is considered "compromising the call".
Amongst our youth our aim is to firstly develop a culture where Christianity is lived out in all areas of life. This fundamental level proves in itself to be witness to young people in schools, universities, workplaces, friends and family members.
Once this is built in the lives of our youth, events and outreaches can be planned into the local, national and international arena. It is here we can look to develop a concern for our community, our nation and other countries. It is also an exciting time to be part of a larger network such as the CCMN (Cell Church Mission Network) to also partner and explore these opportunities before us.
In the first chapter of Deuteronomy, God specially told his people to break camp (to leave their comforts and security) and advance into their inheritance - the idea of taking hold of what God has called us to do is what I believe is an important focus for Freedome. It has been a concept which I have heard other youth churches talking about and also came through from the CCMN Youth Summit.
If you have an interest in serving our youth in the area of missions, please feel free to talk to me. It would be great to hear from you.
Yours in Christ,
Chris Steiner
