The Australian Cell Church Network exists to support the development of the cell church movement in Australia by facilitating the connecting of churches and networks of churches that are pursuing the cell church model in its various forms. Across Australia, leaders who are following the cell church model are either connecting or looking for connection with others of like mind. The cell church movement in Australia will be assisted by offering a forum whereby such leaders, churches and networks can connect. We recognise the dynamics of relationships that currently exist across churches and denominations in Australia. Networks of like-minded leaders are an important part of the future of the church; crossing denominational boundaries and springing from common thinking, philosophy, interest and passion.

Historically, this network grew from an association of several churches in Australia who began transitioning into cell church in the mid 1990’s. Their connection was through Ralph Neighbour and Bill Beckham who have both been used internationally as catalysts for the cell church movement. Connection was then made with the Cell Church Missions Network, an international network of Cell Church Leaders and Missionaries from over 30 countries, overseen by Ben Wong from Hong Kong. Being exposed to the power of networking, there has grown the desire to connect cell churches with others for mutual benefit.

ACCN has come out of a Cell Church Network in South East Queensland, a network of approximately 25 churches that meet together several times a year. Out of this, deeper relationships have developed between several of the churches offering mutual encouragement, support, sharing of experience and resources. We have experienced the power of networking and taken upon ourselves the challenge to promote it across Australia.
